Sin querer sin darme cuenta he creado,el cristo más famoso de México,no se si el cristo más famoso de América (y lo digo sin distinguir fronteras) o el cristo más famoso del mundo,pero de México si lo es,hace unos días,estaba haciendo esta consulta en Google,pues me preguntaba cual seria el cristo mas famoso de México.

Supuse que sería el llamado "Cristo del veneno",que esta en la Catedral de México,pero no, para mi satisfacción apareció el mío,que no es sino el de todos ustedes,es decir el de todo el pueblo.De la mano de nacho,por decirlo así, conocí los aspectos más populares de Durango.Así como de la mano de Don Enemesio Robles, conocí la sierra de Durango,cuando era un adolecente.

Ayer pasé a ver a Nacho en su puesto de santos, frente ala iglesia de San Miguel,por el rumbo de la Plazuela Baca Ortíz,en Durango,ahora esta un poco enfermo de sus piernas,pero noté que esta mejorando, así se lo dije,le pregunté cuantos años tenia ya ,72 me dijo,con un brillo en la mirada de inteligencia,Nacho no es un santero común es lo que llaman un curandero espiritual.

El me preguntó por las últimas piedras preciosas que encontramos en la sierra,estoy haciendo joyería le dije,hice las cruces que me dijiste,las hiciste! al decirlo,lo dijo con mucho gusto,por que fue su idea, y por que el siempre, al igual que yo quiere propagar la fé en Cristo.

También sin duda por que Nacho más que un amigo ha sido para mi como un hermano mayorEl se crió en la casa de mis tíos,en la cual también viví yo muchos años,como mis tíos eran dueños de una cantidad inmensa de terrenos forestales en la sierras de Durango,vivimos muchas aventuras juntos,el en su juventud fue soldado y santero toda su vida.

Yo lo recuerdo armando marcos de cuadros de santos,desde que el tendría algunos 12 añosReflexionan-do sobre su vida,me di cuenta que es un triunfador aunque para muchos no lo parezca,y es que el concepto de éxito prefabricado de la mercadotecnia a confundido los valores de muchos,que no se han sentado a reflexionar sobre los verdaderos valores de la vida,Juan Pablo II dijo ,"Al final de nuestras vidas solo queda lo que hallamos hecho por ayudar a otros hombres".

Desgraciadamente no todos pueden entender lo cierto de esta sencilla frase,Nacho y yo de algún modo hemos llevado vidas paralelas por que los dos hemos vivido para propagar la palabra de Cristo,Etsy.com y Artfire.com,son los dos sitios mas importantes en el mundo online para la venta de arte y artesanía,hace un momento me llegó un email diciendo que uno de mis cristos fue seleccionado por el curador,como una de las mejores obras expuestas en Artfire.com.

Bueno,voy a tratar de decir algo sobre mi,general-mente,cuando de esto se trata copio y pego,algún otro texto biográfico,pero hoy voy a escribir cosas nuevas sobre mi mismo,independientemente de lo que siempre digo, cosas como que soy artista y artesano,etc

Como ya tengo algunos años,conozco algunas cosas interesantes,que puedo compartir,a menudo se encuentra un camino cuando uno se conoce bien a si mismo, y sabe que es lo que tiene para dar,este simple hecho te abre un camino.

Fire agate is a brown, microcrystalline quartz (chalcedony) which has a botryoidal (grape-like) growth form, and which contains layers of plate-like crystals of iron oxide (limonite) in various planes within it. The layers are small enough that light entering them forms interference colors known as "fire." The iridescent colors of red, gold, green and rarely, blue-violet, result from interference between diffracted light rays traveling through and reflecting off of these thin layers. (We see the same effect when looking at the rainbow colors at the surface of an oily puddle of water; or in the "orient" created by the layers of nacre on the surface of pearl.) Looking at a fire agate is much like looking down into the burning embers of a fire, which is exactly how it got its name. The gem is thought to be formed when hot water saturated with colloidal silica and iron oxide invades cavities in country rock and begin to cool. Chalcedony with iron oxide begins to grow on any available surface (the iron oxide gives the basic brown color to the gem). As the solutions began to precipitate and grow layers of silica and iron oxide would be deposited depending on the relative level of those elements in solution and underlying conditions. These alternating silica and iron oxide layers (Schiller layers)) cause the brilliant fire in the gem. As iron oxide ran out in the solution colorless chalcedony continued to grow.

Definition-Schiller layers: One of a series of layers formed by sedimenting particles that exhibit bright colors in reflected light, because the layers are separated by approximately equal distances, with the distances being of the same order of magnitude as the wavelength of visible light. Also known as iridescent layer.

Fire agate is found only in the US Southwest —the land between Kingman, Arizona and Needles, California and around the Colorado River— and Mexico. It wasn't sold commercially until after World War II.

Fire Agate is one of the most difficult opaque materials to cut properly. In order to best reveal the colors, the overlying layers of chalcedony must be very carefully removed from the botryoidal surface creating a freeform shape with a carved upper surface. Just a bit too much material removed kills the iridescence and too much left on dulls it. Such painstaking treatment requires substantially more time per piece by the lapidary, and tends to elevate cost. This type of fashioning also leads to a lack of calibrated pieces and has prevented the use of this gem in mass produced jewelry items. This, combined with the fact that it is found in so few locations, keeps it scarce and mostly unknown to the general public.

It is very long wearing and tough material which may be worn every day.
